I grew up and still live in the middle of Pennsylvania Dutch Country. I'm an "Englisher". That's what the Amish call non-Amish people. I truly respect and love the Amish way of life.

Through all my school age years I've heard many odd stories about the Amish which always perplexed me.
Now older, with personal association and experiences, I've learned that Amish folk are the nicest, funniest, most down to earth, honest and caring people I've ever met!

My website is all about telling it how it really is in Lancaster County's Amish Country. My goal is to demystify "old wives tales and myths".

The Amish aren't concerned about silly old myths the English say, it's me who's concerned! With all the misconceptions I feel they deserve better respect. And of course, I am intrigued by their lifestyle, I want to share it with you and, it's all with their permission!

All of my Amish friends' names have been changed to protect their privacy.

Please read on and indulge in Amish history. It's verified Amish information on their heritage and religion going back as far as 1517! I focus on major turning points of their history.

When I think of the Amish, I envision handmade quilts and crafts, handcrafted rustic furniture and natural, homemade foods right out of the garden! Oh yes, horse and buggies too!
It's a part of their identity, their way of a simpler life. No electricity, phones or motor vehicles. To me, their lifestyle is Mother Nature natural!

Many Amish families have their own business: whether it's a type of farming or furniture making, butchers and bakers to construction or quilting and crafts and many more. They do not generally advertise. You may see some ads in newspapers but that is about it.

So, another goal of mine is to help PA Dutch and Amish with their businesses by selling some of their goods for them. I do this without exploiting their privacy. Unless otherwise requested. (I stopped by this farm one day to comment on how beautiful it was and asked if I could take a picture and if it's ok to put on the internet. I said I wouldn't get them in the picture.)

A quilter, furniture maker and a weather vane maker all said they would gladly customize their products for me, which they know is for you.. here on the internet. One said, “ I'd like to sell what I already have made but to customize, it takes a little longer to do but, I will".
